Jasmina & Noah in their Dubrovnik City Walls Fortress Wedding Story

Jasmina and Noah had a completely different wedding scenario in mind. They even came from far Australia to check on the venue, catering and all other items. It truly seemed all so perfect. Then one day, only 2 months before their wedding day we got a call from their chosen venue that a high security event is booked for that date by the City and Dubrovnik Summer Festival and we had to either change the date or the venue.
It was a nightmare- trust me both for the client and for me. I remember when the officials called me, I was left breathless. The same thing happened when I informed Jasmina - she thought I was joking. Noah, God bless him, on the other hand was our calming "half". He said we can't stress over it now and they need to decide on the new venues I suggested for them soon and act immediately. And so we did. The rest is history.

The queen of the venues- Lovrijenac fortress was their choice.
And there is no more exclusive venue nor more impressive one. And we were more than lucky to have it available for their wedding planned for a Saturday in July, in the middle of Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Lovrijenac fortress has always been a popular choice for DSF and their fantastic shows and theater plays. I knew it was a sign and I knew it was a perfect choice.
Jasmina and Noah came once again and realized their new venue is even better than the old one. Let's start wedding planning all over again :)- whoohoo

Noah was getting ready with the guys at a luxurious suite at hotel Excelsior. I absolutely loved photos by Thierry Joubert (http://thierryjoubert.com/) of this part. Different, eclectic, relaxed but oh so cool.

Jasmina on the other hand, got ready with her girls in a high end old style apartment in the heart of the old town. Jasmina is one of those people you fall in love with in the first minute you meet them. Her smile is contagious and her warmth inspiring. Her honesty perfectly matches that of Noah and I cannot imagine a more suitable couple that these two people, a truly perfect match....

And us? It took us 2 days to carry everything up Lovrijenac way. There are a few over 200 steps leading to the top of the fortress, but once you get there it is oh so worth it. I promise :)
Carrying stuff up there is a different story. Don't ever ask a waiter or any of our staff why they least said don't like this place. Not talking about it's beauty naturally, but getting every fork, plate, napkin, bottle, cube of ice and reflector of lights is one challenging task to do. But once it all comes together, like it did on this wedding. Well, then you say it was worth the sweat :)

People, it truly is all about details! They make such a difference, so spare your time to go an extra way in making it personal and having mementos of your wedding, along with your guests having a chance of having something special and useful from your wedding. Jasmina and Noah supplied their guests with hand fans as they arrived and personalized bottles of water, after 200 steps people surely needed them :)
As guests arrived, they were served Lychee Martinis, a signature cocktail of the wedding, Jasmina and Noah's favorite. Half of the ingredients of the cocktail we imported from the UK, but again, it was so worth it.
And it was time.

After a truly touching and personalized ceremony, Jasmina and Noah headed to Old town with Thierry and guests stayed to mingle, drink and enjoy popular hits by a famous performer.
It felt like midnight with the way party was on at 5pm :)

Upon return of the newlyweds, celebratory entrance and speeches were held. Guests each got a miniature bottle of homemade local grappa, personalized for the wedding. Needless to say- most enjoyed this beautiful liquor the same moment they spotted it :)
Speeches were short and sweet, and toasts were held with the help of local grappa again! What is not to love about this wedding!!! Even I want to do it all over again (apart from the venue cancelling stress pretty please :))
And the set up, people! Oh the set up. I couldn't get enough of it! Scroll down these photos, you will know what I mean.

After dinner, guests moved back downstairs for one fantastic party till morning hours. Jasmina changed into another incredibly beautiful dress (all info about vendors you can see in a fantastic article about this stunning wedding of Jasmina and Noah in reputable Lane magazine Australia on this link: http://thelane.com/style-guide/real-weddings/croatian-oceanside-ceremony ) and Noah took off his short shortly after :)
Every year there is a wedding or two I do with pure pleasure and the couple exceeds my expectations. This was a story of one of those weddings.
It was one amazing wedding. About two amazing people. I am thankful for being a part of this story.

And you know what? Months after their wedding, I opened Jasmina and Noah's wedding file to find their first initial email- I do this once in a while (one of the reasons my husband calls me a true wedding fresk :)) - it inquired about a wedding on Lovrijenac fortress. So indeed, it was all as it should be.
